YANA™ Active: The end of cellulite?

Hello to our #everydaywarriors!

In this post we explain a little about cellulite, introduce you to our specialist stretchwear and how the technology in our stretchwear helps to combat cellulite.

Let's jump in.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is described as persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of the skin, especially on women's hips and thighs. [1]

Some go as far to say it’s “an aesthetically unpleasant appearance of excessive and dystrophic fat of postpubescent females.” [2]

Sounds complicated and very dramatic, right? In plain terms, cellulite is a dimpled appearance of the skin; often referred to as ‘orange peel’ or ‘cottage cheese’ skin.

Most frequently, cellulite appears around the lower abdomen, buttocks and thighs; largely the areas where women carry more fat.

Whilst it’s 100% natural and normal for women to have cellulite, there are often many negative connotations associated with cellulite; making women feel self-conscious about their bodies and lowering their self-esteem and confidence.

Who Gets Cellulite?

Well, what if we told you that nearly every woman across the globe has cellulite?

At YANA we’re committed to making garments that are comfortable, perform flawlessly but also encompass style.

We realise that 21st century women (or as we like to think of you as #everydaywarriors), require clothes that are confident, distinct and durable, not as a nice-to-have, but a necessity.

Cellulite is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s a natural occurrence for women globally and we certainly embrace it at YANA.

But what if there was a product out there, that required little effort to wear but could help to reduce the appearance of something that causes so many women to be self-conscious? A product that helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite?

The End of Cellulite

YANA activewear uses specialist technology that combats the appearance of cellulite.

Nilit® Innergy fibres make use of Far Infra Red (FIR) rays that gently warm the deeper layers of the skin; gentle heating contributes to the shaping of fat cells and smoothing of the skin [3].

NILIT Innergy is polyamide (PA) 6.6 microfiber with built in FIR (far infrared ray) properties. The mineral additive found in the yarn converts the thermo energy of the human body into FIR and reflects it back to the skin tissues causing deep but gentle heating.

The gentle heat emitted by the fibres invigorates and energizes the body and helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite [3].

We’re not saying that our stretch-wear will get rid of your cellulite completely- we’re not Magicians!!

However, teamed with the right exercise and diet, our activewear can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite, helping you feel less self-conscious and embrace the skin you’re in.
