A year of lockdowns has had a major impact on all businesses. And it’s been particularly difficult for those who created their own companies just before COVID-19 first hit in March 2020. Some did not even move from the start-up grid. Sisters Charlotte and Sophie Wilson have certainly had their fair share of setbacks. As they prepare for this next phase, Colin Young finds out more.
INDUSTRY FASHION: THE INTERVIEW
Based in Newcastle, sisters Charlotte and Sophie Wilson launched their YANA Active brand, “combining comfort, performance and high-end style” in December 2019, working on it at every available moment while still holding down full-time jobs. The sisters talk candidly about the challenges of launching a brand during a pandemic, and growing a loyal following in such as short space of time.
Entrepreneurial sisters are toasting success after their fashion fitness company YANA Active secured a pop-up shop at retail giant John Lewis.
